Oh, a name

Last names. Throughout history it has been used to help define either an individual or an entire family. As we progressed last names became more and more common, going from royalty only to something required of everyone. Last names come in all shapes and sizes, from Love, to Washington to Shorthair, Longhorn, Lewis, Russey to Mccamy and a whole host of others. Of course I have a last name myself, but what word would I say describes how I feel about it?

I’m not sure if my last name is common, since people usually think it’s spelled differently from what you hear. You can’t really blame them for thinking that, but weirdly enough when someone tries pronouncing a first name they do the opposite. While it’s unknown if it’s a common last name, it definitely is a common word. It makes me wonder what people think when they realize how simple it is to spell.

I really don’t ponder too much on my last name other than the occasional question that pops up in my mind after someone has trouble spelling my last name. It wasn’t a source of bullying though, mostly because it was so simple and last names really didn’t matter to the kids around me.

To conclude, the name I would give to how I feel about my last name would be, indifferent.
