Sometimes the phobias people have can be strange. From a phobia of peanut butter sticking to the roof of of your mouth,(happened to me multiple times) to a fear of gravity (I’m not sure how that works) to a phobia of teenagers, ( Being a teen myself I feel hurt😢) a phobia of dirt and germs,( Understandable) to even a fear of love.
Nearly everyone on Earth has some kind of phobia, including me, and each phobia has a backstory that explains why someone is afraid of something. However I really can’t remember where some of my phobias originated from, but I do know what they are.
One of my phobias is hard to explain in words. Whenever I see food with a certain arrangement of little holes scattered here and there, it looks nauseating to me. I quickly mix around the food so it doesn’t have the holes anymore, satisfying my need to instantly get rid of it.
While some people have claustrophobia, I have a phobia similar but not exactly the same. I really don’t like being in a room with no windows and only one exit; although I can easily go into a closet, where the door is a lot closer than the only exit would be in a full room. What if I suddenly needed to escape? That would be my only exit, and it definitely would be blocked. Thoughts like that would swim around my head. Thankfully I’ve never been in a room like that. (At least as far as I remember)
Another phobia of mine is one of the weirder ones. I’m afraid of getting my socks dirty, and whenever I do, it’s usually against my will. I have no problem with getting my shoes dirty, but never let it be my socks. I’d rather walk around in bare feet than get my socks dirty, although thankfully, recently I’ve found a way to keep my socks “clean”. I wear my normal socks and deem a second pair “dirty” so I’ll wear those over my clean socks.
While phobias can get strange, it’s important not to let them overcome you, because some phobias can be helpful. Having a phobia of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth may keep you from choking on peanut butter, and my fear of one exit rooms may keep me from getting into dangerous situations. But others that are not really helpful usually can’t be explained like a fear of gravity or my fear of getting my socks dirty.
